Out of the spiral, into the open.
You are not the only one doing this.
You looked up a word on your phone while your colleague was still talking.
So does my client. She is Head of Finance at a company with more than 1,000 people.
You moved the call to email again. And again. And again.
So does my client. He runs a service company in Europe with 60 employees.
You prepared the sentence in your head. Then the topic changed.
So does my client. She leads a department in an international group.
You had the best answer in the room and you said nothing.
So does my client. He is a director in a technology company.
You slept badly the night before the presentation.
So does my client. She is a partner in a professional services firm.
You watch films in English, but you avoid speaking it.
So does my client. He is a founder with customers in three countries.
Speaking is an emotional skill before it is a language skill.
The silence is learned, not natural.
Every time you stay quiet, your brain records that silence was safe. The habit gets stronger. Your English does not get worse. Your access to it does.
Emotional skills come first.
Self-regard, impulse control and stress tolerance decide whether you speak. These skills can be measured and they can be trained. I use the EQ-i 2.0 assessment for this.
So we start with speaking, not with grammar.
You speak from the first minute. We work on the situations you actually face: your meetings, your calls, your clients.
